Bullets and Bylcreem

The area to the south of the authors home,  was home to a temporary camp for soldiers flying out in preparation of the D Day landings.

There is nothing left of the camp, other than the rubbish that was left behind.

Occasionally this 'rubbish' finds its way to the surface during gardening and other field walking activities.

Not all relics come to light by being unearthed however, and some interesting items relating to the air station have been collected over time.

These items are available to view during open days as well as other items loaned by Cricklade Museum.
